Disbelief

I am unsure how to say this right now.  I am still in shock, but I think this might be therapeutic, who knows.

There is a family that mine is very close with.  The mom was one of my teachers in 7th grade.  We remained family friends.  I've watched their two little girls since I was I younger than 16 (if you're counting that's over 6yrs).  They are family to me.  This morning something horrible happened.  The dad is a police officer and was killed in the line of duty.  I got the call from my mom about an hour ago and I'm still processing...about to head back home.

You can find the story here.

Please pray for the family, the girls, the Walker Police department and the family's friends.  If you don't pray, please send all the good thoughts and love you can.

  1. I don't know you at all -- just stumbled over your blog -- but I am none the less completely touched by this story. I live across the street from a Medivac State Trooper and every time he goes to work all of us have a flicker of a thought.... what if. I definitely pray, and will add your friends to them.

  2. Oh that is awful...my husband is a police officer and we've lost friends in the line of duty...so very sorry that your friends are having to go through this.

My best wishes to his family.

  4. Thank you for sharing this.
Prayer is something I can do for this family & God can do all things. I will ask God for His comforting Spirit and His love to surround them at this most difficult time.
