Camping: Photoshoot

This weekend boyfriend and I are going camping with a group of our good friends.  So I've put together a couple fun camping posts for while I'm gone.

Scary Day

So today was a little bit of a scary day.  I had a baking day with a girlfriend, and soon after she left, found out that there is a serial killer loose in my city.  There was a high speed police chase, and currently there are about four crime scenes taped off around the city.  


The suspect killed seven people and has at least one hostage, possibly three.  He passed only a couple streets away from my house.  I've kept locked up watching the news for the last hour or so.  


Right now they think they have him cornered, but please pray for the hostages and the family of all of the people who were murdered, as well as all the people who live in the area he's hiding in and who were hurt in the high speed chase.  


Such a scary and emotional time.  My hearts and prayers are going out to the friends and family of all involved.

UPDATE: Last night the man let all three of his hostages go free, thank goodness, before taking his own life.  I'm glad no one else innocent was hurt, but still feel for his family and those who knew him and others involved.  

Overnights and Jarts

My work schedule has started to be overnights. 10pm-6am...so my overall schedule has been thrown off.  But, my parents acquired a new game of Jarts (now illegal to purchase for safety reasons...but oh so fun).  


But last week I had some good family time.  
Starbucks and shopping with momma. 

Caramel Creme Frappachino...delish. 

Then playing Jarts with my parents and littlest sister.

She wanted a picture with her great shots. 

My mom may kill me for this picture...but aren't they cute? 

And these Jarts really are intense...when I missed the grass and they hit the driveway, there was a huge spark!

What I Pieced Wednesday: 6

This week I made a Churn Dash block for the Skill Builder.  Leila's tutorials are so great to follow, especially for a beginner!  If you haven't joined in on this one, there's still time (: 

And all three so far.  I must say, I'm definitely loving this quilting thing.

I also made my momma a camera strap.  Since I use her camera more than she does when I'm home...it's the least I could do ;)  

(Pretty simple, but I can make a tutorial if anyone wants it)

She loves animal print. 

Plus, hopefully I'll be done with my hexagon hand-piecing soon!
