Warm Weather is Here!!

Today the temperature got into the 80s!! Oh my word...after wishing I owned a parka last week, even yesterday.  Such a quick temperature change...I hope it stays this way (:
Almost time for Chicago trips...

and beach days...
and pool time...
and cookouts that lead to fires (minus the fire)...
I can't wait

Free Rice: Ending Hunger

Every day in my Freshman Writing class we would play this vocabulary game.  I've just recently discovered it again.  You answer different questions and for each that you get right they donate 10 grains of rice to help end hunger.  Now, that might not seem like a lot, but play for a minute and it'll add up.
Play here.

If English isn't your thing...you can play other subjects. Check them out here

A minute a day can help.

In Progress

I've been working on a couple projects lately...here's a little sneak peek.

It's almost the end of the semester...so it's been hard to find time to work on things. But, it also means that summer is soon, and summer = lots of craft-time and catching up on scrapbooking (I'm super far behind).

Cell Phone Case Covering

I've been sick of my cell phone case for a while now...It's just clear and so boring.  So when I found this tutorial, I immediately had to try it.
Here are my results:

I did a few things differently from the tutorial because my phone case is two different pieces and rounded on the edges...so here are a few tips from my experience.
I made sure the fabric was the right size and placed where I wanted it on the fabric...and then cut it to fit the part of the case that goes over top of the other.
I put the fabric on the whole case, and then used an exacto knife to cut out the holes...I have quite a few.
I pleated the corners and then cut off the excess before mod-podgeing (is that a word? oh well) it down
And here are the two halves drying.

Now my phone is much more stylish (:
