Scalloped Tote

As I've talked about before, my sorority holds an annual benefit dinner called Red Dress Gala.  Each member has to put together a basket or something to auction off.

I chose some fabrics...I've been loving red and blue together.

And I used this pattern/tutorial from See Kate Sew.

Made a little pouch to match.

And put them together.
And one of my great friends won it.  I'm so glad it went to a good home (:

What I Pieced Wednesday: 12

So the other weekend I happened to have a little free time on my hands, so I caught up a little on the We Can Do It sampler.  I did all the paper piecing blocks...and I LOVED it.

Seriously, paper piecing...I think I may love you. haha...guess I'll have to do a little more when I have the time (:

College Graduation

Oh I am so sorry for my blogging hiatus...but I have a good reason.
I graduated college (:  Finally!  And I was asked to give the commencement speech.
Which means I've been studying for exams, writing papers, and writing my graduation speech!!
My grandparents, sisters, parents, boyfriend and boyfriend's parents all came down for it.
Grandma!

Two of my greatest friends.

Finally.

Boyfriend.

The family.

Littlest sister.

The president of my college and I.

The two sisters I graduated with.

When I've had a few minutes here and there I have have time to do some projects, so there will be pictures soon.  And the ones that are Christmas presents, well, maybe a sneak peak.

I hope you haven't left me!  Christmas break should give me some wonderful crafting time...so no long breaks again, deal?

Bracelets

So I don't know if I've mentioned before, but I'm president of the Panhellenic Council of my school.  Basically, Panhel is in charge of all the sororities on campus.  We hold recruitment in the fall and for this, we need a certain number of girls from each sorority to volunteer to be Rho Gammas (recruitment guides) and disaffiliate for a few weeks until recruitment is over.
These girls have done a lot, so the pres and VPRecruitment always get them a gift at the end.  This year I made bracelets for them.

17 of these babies.  I put the key on them to thank them for being the "key to recruitment."  Cheesy, I know, but sometimes I like a little cheese ;)

Ruffled Streamers and Choosing Joy

Littlest sister turned 16 in October.  Luckily it was over my fall break, so I got to be home for almost a week.  Of course we had a little party for her, and I made some ruffled streamers for decoration (inspiration from MADE).

Her current favorite colors are orange and purple, and she's the tomboy of the family, so I picked green as a third color.

And for her present, I painted her a canvas.

Luckily the canvas came in a pack of two...I want one for myself now (:

Grandmother's 90th

This summer one of my grandmothers had her 90th birthday.
My family got to go down to Pennsylvania to visit, but I couldn't get time off of work, so I made her this poster.

She's German, and my Grandpa, also German, (who passed away when my dad was really little) was in the Army and fought in WWII against the Nazis.

I love price comparisons...they're so interesting to me.

And yes, there are exactly 90 candles on this board.  I used my Silhouette to cut everything out.

Bad Blogger...and Halloween (late)

I have been such an awful blogger lately, I'm sorry.  Unfortunately, school comes first.  The good news is, I have a bunch of new projects to show that I've been working on here and there.
So I know it's way late, but I want to show off the boy & my Halloween costumes.  We thrifted outfits and I made both my pins in about 5min. (We had a very long, hectic day & not very many good pics, but oh well).
Flo & Mayhem.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch these two videos--

When I was down that weekend we went to a football game (yes, I braved the cold for a sporting event) and it turned out to be the game to be at.

When they won, everyone rushed the field.  So fun, and so crazy!
We were right in the middle of the football team.
But I'm short, so I had bf put me on his back for a better view.

I pledge to be a better blogger for you all (:
