Knotted in Love-Bridal Shower

So the bridal shower I've been crafting for finally happened last weekend!  The bride was beautiful, we made the house beautiful and the company wasn't so bad either.  Here are  some shots of the decorations.
My giant paper flowers from this tutorial.

Knotted in Love banner from here . The color didn't turn out how I wanted it, so I went over it in a marker, which also lent to the rustic charm of the other decoration.

The house has a gorgeous inset mantel where I put my yarn "flowers" and LOVE letters. (Sorry about the lighting)

I need to make some of these for myself (:

The food table.

We weren't really into shower games, so we did a quick one that was just a quiz about the bride and groom's relationship.  We had people decorate their own pots and then we potted a flower for them to take home.  It was a hit.

It was so much fun!

My littlest sister and I.

My sister, the bride and I, she's pretty much our sister.

The bridal party.

After a few of us went with the bride to get her dress fitted...so much fun!  And then the bride and I moved the remainder of her things back into my house (: Such a wedding-filled day!

Superhero Teacher Gift

As I said before, I finished my student teaching at the beginning of April.  It was honestly the best experience I have ever had.  My kids were incredible, the other teachers and staff were funny, helpful, and awesome, and my teacher--I can't say enough.  She was fabulous, more helpful, sweet, and perfect than I could have asked for.  She became like a second mother to me; I mean, we did spend at least 6hrs a day 5 days a week together for 3 months!  Needless to say, I had to get her a gift that would show how much I appreciated her.  I really struggled with what to get her until I found this pin on one of my boards.  Disclaimer: I tried to follow the link to see if it could be purchased somewhere, and I couldn't find anything.

Found a blank canvas I had in my stash, bought some paints and went to work (:

She loved it.  And that's all that matters to me (:

Blog Hop!

Want to do some bloggy networking and find new friends? Great.

Just link up, and follow the host and co-hosts if you can. (They're pretty awesome, you won't be sorry).

And, I think the most important part--check out other people's blogs and leave them some love.

Insta-Friday

This week I had my very last undergraduate class ever (: Just have to finish one paper and put together my portfolio and I am D-O-N-E done.  Words cannot describe how happy I am!!

Cheesecake ice cream is genius.

Easter with boyfriend's family.  His cousins got ductape and they showed me how to make these flowers. So talented for 8 & 12yrs old.

So in return, I made them bows and stuck them on bobby pins pulled from my hair.

$6 shoes...who am I to turn them down?

Gorgeous weather driving back to school.

I honestly cannot believe it's been six months since this happened.  He's being honored in Washington D.C. this summer and was recognized along with a few other fallen officers at the Tiger's game last night.

While that happened, I was playing Candyland with his little girls so that his wife could go.  They are seriously my favorite.

Have a blessed week (:

InstaFriday: 1

Okay, I've been a horrible blogger.  But, last Friday I finished my student teaching!  I've been crazy busy with teaching and class and everything--loving every minute.  It was an emotional day as I left my kiddos for the last time, lots of tears.  I had an incredible mentor teacher and a fabulous team of Kindergarten teachers to learn from.  I can't wait to have my own class!
Crayons I made for them.  Packed up really cute.  I can't wait to take them in!
From now on, I pledge to do better.  And I've started by using Instagram on my phone, much easier for me to take pictures throughout the day.  Come follow me! @barbaraemily

I've been doing a lot of crafts for a bridal shower I'm helping put on for a wedding I'm in this summer.  Including...

Giant paper flowers made out of paper bags. Followed this tutorial

Yarn-wrapped letters.

And I'm currently soaking wine bottles to take off the labels (Don't worry, they aren't all mine ;) )
